The Unity Harbor House Story

Learn about our mission, our values and vision of growth.

Unity Harbor House is creating supportive homes where people can find stability, connection, and the foundation to move forward.

Our Mission.

Life can bring each of us to moments when we need a little more support, stability, and space to find our footing. Unity Harbor House creates safe, supportive housing environments for people navigating different seasons of transition and change. Through our five housing pathways—Youth Transitioning to Independence, Women & Children, Re-entry/ Justice-Impacted Individuals, Veterans, and Addiction Recovery —we provide thoughtfully cared-for homes designed to meet people where they are and offer the stability they need for what comes next. We recognize that everyone’s circumstances are different, but the need for safety, security, dignity, and a supportive foundation is universal. Through our commitment to community, we strive to create welcoming homes where people can regain their footing, strengthen their sense of possibility, and move forward with greater confidence, resilience, and hope.

The Meaning behind

What Unity Harbor House Stands For

UNITY
Unity is the people part—neighbors, families, professionals, and communities coming together around someone who needs steady ground.

HARBOR
Harbor is the feeling part—somewhere to land, somewhere to rest, and somewhere to begin again.

Vision of Growth

Growing a stronger foundation for what comes next.

As Unity Harbor House grows, we envision expanding the network of resources and community connections available to residents—because a strong foundation is about more than where you live. It is about having the support, knowledge, and opportunities to build what comes next.

  • Preparing for work is about more than finding a job
We envision connections to job-readiness support and guidance, resume assistance, employment opportunities, career exploration, and resources that can help residents build greater financial independence.

  • No one should have to navigate every next step alone
Future case management resources may help residents set goals, navigate important services, stay connected to resources, set appointments and build a practical plan for moving forward.

  • Recovery is strengthened through connection and community
We envision opportunities to connect residents with AA, NA, peer-support communities, and other recovery-focused resources that encourage accountability, encouragement, and lasting change.

  • For those who find strength in faith, these connections can become part of the journey
We hope to build relationships with faith-based programs and communities that offer encouragement, purpose, fellowship, and spiritual support.

  • Small practical skills can make a lasting difference
Future resources may include budgeting, financial literacy, household management, organization, goal-setting, and other skills that support greater confidence and independence.

  • Growth often begins with an opportunity to learn something new
We envision connections to GED programs, vocational training, certifications, continuing education, and other educational pathways that can open doors to new possibilities.
